Create & Learn PlayKits

Being creative can feel like magic.

We’re helping local children to make some magic happen in their own homes.

Our doors may be closed, but we are still determined to support our local community. We’ve teamed up with Wandsworth Council and other brilliant organisations to produce creative PlayKits for local children. Packed with craft materials, activities and creative challenges, the kits will help with learning and wellbeing while schools are closed.

Over June, July and August, these kits are bringing creativity to 6-10 year olds who most need support. There is huge demand – our Grand Hall has reopened as an emergency hub to put kits together, and we are working with local schools to distribute them.

We delivered 1000 free kits in June, before following up in July and August with parcels of more creative challenges.

This is an emergency scheme in response to Covid-19, running in collaboration with local voluntary organisations: 575 Wandsworth Road (National Trust), Agora Arts Circle, Creative Wandsworth, Nine Elms Arts Ministry, Royal College of Art (Battersea), Roehampton R.O.C.K.S., Sen Talk, Tara Arts and Wandsworth Council.

We have also created a digital version of the kit available to download for anyone interested in getting creative over this period.
