The Council Chamber

Located on the first floor at the front of our building, accessed via an opulent marble staircase, the wood-panelled Council Chamber is a timeless event space. Light, spacious and versatile, the Council Chamber is perfect for those looking for real creative flair with the ability to transform for a variety of different events.

Hire of the Council Chamber comes with direct access to the Members’ Library which acts as a breakout space and additional function room. The Members’ Library can be transformed into a bar, breakout room, dance floor or whatever additional space your event calls for.

Council Chamber Capacities: 120 sit-down dinners, 140 theatre-style, 200 standing 

(With Members’ Library: 180 sit-down dinners, 210 standing)

Rates: 12 hour hire period from £2,500 to £3,300 + VAT
Wedding packages start from £5,500 + VAT for the Council Chamber, £6,000 + VAT for the staircase (Sundays only) and £4,000 + VAT for a ceremony only on the staircase (Sundays only).

Availability: The Council Chamber is available to hire in January, July (weekends only), August and September

Additional Fees:

  • Extended hire periods and load-in and load-out days negotiable
  • Bespoke technical packages are available from the venue at additional cost
  • Staffing costs are quoted bespoke for your event
